Seersucker

Remember when cotton seersucker first became available and was the puckered “wonder fabric” that didn’t need to be ironed? (Women will remember!) Our mothers made it into all kinds of clothing for the family and shouted, “Hooray, less work!” Our fabric is crisp, lightweight, and perfect for warmer weather. Searsucker was the “wonder fabric” of the 30’s , and 40’s because it didn’t need to be ironed. It’s puckered surface was sooo forgiving that women loved it and men thought it was so dashing. Well, some things live on forever, and this is one of them. The rage of the ‘30’s and ‘40’s because it’s puckered surface meant that it didn’t need to be ironed, this fabric has been proven to be an eternal favorite because of its classic stripe and adaptability.
