Mens Casual Vests Replace Casual Friday

Quoting from USA Today Weekend (June 3-5):    Writer: Michele Meyer

Finally, we’re over weeklong casual Fridays! Spring’s three-piece suits and sleeveless sweaters echo sartorially smooth star Clark Gable and TV’s Boardwalk Empire.  But dressing up is not just for old guys. Teen idol Justin Beiber and twentysomething rocker Bruno Mars also play it close to the vest.

Justin Beiber was spotting in London sporting a black velvet vest.

What draws today’s dashing dandies to vests are price — less than sport coats or Savile Row suits– with greater penache than pullovers.

“Vests are hip, young and versatile,” says Perry Ellis creative director John Crocco.  “They sell better than matching slacks and jackets.  So clearly, guys wear them in other ways.”

You can loosen your collar or completely unfasten a vest over a T shirt —just not at work.

“Casual doesn’t mean untucked shirtails, nor should ties hang further down than partly buttoned vests. That’s Sloppy.” says Crocco.

“Otherwise, anything works if you wear it with confidence.”  says Crocco.

End of quote.

Our sentiments exactly!  Not only are our Mens Casual Vests for every day wear   —Even our tuxedo vests can be worn any day of the week.  See this Black and Gold Paisley Vest, or our gorgeous Fleur de Lis being worn by gents  wearing tux vests in an informal way.
